Achievement Academy Director of Professional Development

Kent Blackmon is the Senior Director & Global Process Owner (GPO) responsible for the governance and proactive development and enhancement of the end-to-end talent development process for Johnson & Johnson globally. He collaborates with sub-process stakeholders and peer GPOs to tranform all talent development operations. Kent owns the design and governance of all business processes related to performance management, career development, coaching and mentoring, succession planning, learning strategy, learning delivery, and learning administration.

Over the course of his career, Kent has successfully led the strategic business transformation of human resources, finance, commercial, and supply chain operations in various large organizations. He joined J&J from Coca-Cola where he was Director, Strategy and Business Transformation. During his tenure at Coca-Cola, he led various projects across the company including the development of the 2015-2018 Global Diversity & Inclusion strategy, as well as the transformation of talent acquisition, talent management, learning and development. He also transferred process excellence knowledge and capability to functional leaders to ensure continuous process improvement.

Prior to J&J, Kent held roles of increasing responsibility in the areas of business transformation and process excellence at Coca-Cola, Recall Corporation, GE Capital, Bank of America, Ford Motor Credit, Southwestern Bell Corp, and Motorola to name a few. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering – Focus: Business Operations and Statistics from Purdue University and an MBA from Prairie View A&M University. He is also a PMI-certified PMP and a certified LEAN Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
