DR. CHRISTOPHER E. JOHNSON

Dr. Christopher E. Johnson has been in the field of public education for thirty-six years. He started his career in the tenth grade as a high school bus driver in 1985 and working through college as a substitute teacher and bus driver. He held many professional educational positions in K-12 education from Algebra teacher to Ninth Grade Academy Principal. Currently, he is a Senior Grants Administrator with the National Education Association’s Center for Great Public Schools in Washington DC. He joined the NEA family in 2013 with the Priority Schools department and worked with NEA affiliates across the county to provide services for underserved students and educators to aid in school transformation.
He was humbled to broker a partnership and grant funds with Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., and the NEA Priority Schools to provide mentoring services to at-risk male students in designated NEA Priority Schools across the United States. He was humbled to be named the Assistant Principal of the Year for the State of Georgia in November 2005. He completed his Bachelors of Science in Mathematics Education from South Carolina State University in 1994. Obtained his Masters of School Administration from North Carolina State University in 2001. Additionally, he acquired his Specialist of Education from Jacksonville State University in 2004. He completed his terminal degree, Doctor of Education, from Georgia Southern University, with a dissertation titled “Mentor Me to Mister”, in 2011. Finally, he continued his education and completed the requirements for the Masters of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Human Resources from the University of Phoenix in September 2016.
He has served the Fraternity for twenty-six years. A Spring 1991 initiate of the Alpha Lambda of Kappa Alpha Psi. He held many leadership positions with the Fraternity within the Southeastern and Middle Eastern Provinces. He was named Alpha Lambda Brother of the Year in 1992, a year after initiation. He currently serves as the Southeastern Province Historian where he has authored and published two editions of the History of the Southeastern Province.
He has many community leadership awards. He considers one of his greatest accomplishments to be named National Bert V. Wadkins Kappa League Director of the Year in 2005. Additionally, he is the founding advisor for the Omicron Omega Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity located at Clayton State University. Furthermore, he is a member of the 100 BLACK MEN of America, Inc. He established the Collegiate 100 chapter at Clayton State in 2009. Finally, he received the 2009 Distinguished Service Award from the 100 BLACK MEN of South Metro Inc.
Finally, he served as a United States Marine Corp reservist. He was proud to wear the dress blues of our Marine Corp.
